One Dead, 3 Hospitalized After 4 Indian Men Collapse at Phuket Cafe — confirmed details at this stage for Phuket readers.
Phuket police are investigating after four Indian men collapsed in a Patong cafe late on May 10, 2026, leaving one dead and three hospitalized. Police said the men were part of a group of five, and the only companion who remained conscious told officers he did not know what had happened and felt normal.
Emergency responders took three of the unconscious men to Patong Hospital and one to Thalang Hospital. All four were unable to give statements when they arrived, police said.
Hospital transfers and cause under investigation
Two of the hospitalized men were later transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital for further treatment. Authorities said one victim died despite medical efforts, while the other three remained under hospital care.
Police have continued questioning the fifth man for preliminary information because he showed no abnormal symptoms. Investigators are awaiting toxicology tests and forensic examinations to determine whether food, drink or another substance was involved.
Officers have not identified the cafe because they have not established whether anything there was connected to the collapses. Police said the cause may have originated before the group’s visit.
