One Kilogram of Crystal Meth Seized at Phuket Checkpoint
Police at the Phuket checkpoint in Tha Chatchai, Thalang seized about one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine hidden in a vehicle ceiling after an earlier seizure of 2,900 meth pills.
Authorities at the Phuket checkpoint in Tha Chatchai, Thalang seized about one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine hidden in a vehicle ceiling during a late-night operation linked to a larger narcotics case.
Police said officers at the Tha Chatchai checkpoint on June 22 first intercepted a vehicle registered in Surat Thani and confiscated 2,900 methamphetamine pills.
Building on that case, police in Thalang later arrested another suspect on the same day who was believed to be connected to the same network. Investigators then carried out a renewed search of the vehicle involved in the earlier case and found approximately one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine concealed in the car’s ceiling.
The drugs were seized as evidence and the suspect was taken into custody. Officials said legal proceedings are underway and that further investigations are continuing to identify additional members of the trafficking ring.
