Patong orders evacuation from landslide-risk areas after roads blocked

Patong Municipality in Phuket has ordered residents in landslide-risk areas to evacuate to shelters after continuous rain caused a landslide and falling rocks to block the road at Soi Na Nai 3 on 29 October 2026.

The situation at Soi Na Nai 8 remained serious, according to the municipality. Mayor Lalita Maneesri ordered officials to assist residents, with shuttle vehicles arranged at both locations to support evacuations.

Officials, volunteers and forestry staff were deployed to Soi Na Nai 8 to help residents and maintain safety. The municipality also prepared parking areas for small and large vehicles so residents could move them to safer locations.

Residents were urged to leave at-risk areas promptly and follow officials’ instructions.
