Patong police arrest two and seize 280 meth tablets
Police arrested a 19-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man during a raid on a rental room in Patong, seizing methamphetamine and alleged drug-distribution equipment.
Patong police arrested two people and seized 280 methamphetamine tablets and 24.17 grams of crystal methamphetamine during a raid on a rental room, The Phuket Express reported.
Investigators searched the property on Rat-U-Thit 200 Year Road and detained a 19-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man. Officers also seized a digital scale, two mobile phones, 71 resealable plastic bags, plastic straws and equipment for consuming crystal methamphetamine.
Both suspects were taken to Patong Hospital for urine tests, which confirmed methamphetamine use, according to the report.
Police charged the pair with possession of Category 1 narcotics with intent to sell, distribution of methamphetamine and illegal drug use. They were handed over, along with the seized evidence, to investigators at Patong Police Station for further legal proceedings.
