Patong police detain foreign man after public intoxication complaint

Patong police detained a foreign man in Phuket on May 7 after responding to complaints of disruptive behavior near a tour booth on Thaweewong Road at about 11:10 a.m. Police said witnesses described the man as appearing intoxicated and unable to control himself in public.

The man’s name and nationality were not known when officers took him into custody. Authorities said he had allegedly consumed alcohol or other intoxicants to the point of losing self-awareness and causing a disturbance.

Charges filed after officers take man to station

Police charged the man with public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He was then escorted to Patong Police Station.

Investigators took over the case for legal proceedings, according to Patong Police. The initial response followed repeated reports of disruptive behavior in the area, police said.
