Patong Police move to temporary station as B59.85 million rebuild begins

Patong Police have moved to a temporary station as construction begins on a five-storey replacement building expected to take about two years to complete, Chief Pol Col Korakrit Khanthakrue said.

The temporary station began operating on 28 September 2026 at 44/31 Siriraj Rd, on the hill at the southern end of Patong. Police are asking residents and visitors to use the temporary office for services during the rebuild.

The existing station will be demolished after the Royal Thai Police approved its replacement. Pol Col Korakrit said the station floods every year during heavy rain, and the new building will be raised higher to reduce the problem. The surrounding grounds will also be improved to address water drainage.

The reinforced-concrete building will combine police offices with staff accommodation and include facilities for investigation, inquiry and traffic operations, along with detention cells, communications and radio systems, network infrastructure, and parking for police and public vehicles.

The construction contract was awarded to Warakit Co Ltd for B59.85 million, including VAT, other taxes, transport, registration and related costs, according to a procurement announcement issued on 17 August.

Pol Col Korakrit said Patong Police has about 224 officers. The existing station is about 40 years old and has not undergone a major renovation for more than 15 years.
