Phang Nga police seize 2.16 million methamphetamine tablets

Phang Nga police seized an additional 480,000 methamphetamine tablets after discovering a concealed compartment inside a cabinet used to store evidence, bringing the reported haul from the operation to 2.16 million pills.

Muang Phang Nga police initially intercepted and seized 1,680,000 tablets during a pursuit and raid on 2 September. The drugs and storage cabinets used to conceal them were taken to the police station for examination.

Later that evening, Police Colonel Weerapong Rakkhito, superintendent of Muang Phang Nga Police Station, led an investigative team with provincial forensic experts in inspecting the cabinet. Officers dismantled the structure and found the additional tablets hidden at the rear.

Authorities said the discovery demonstrated the sophistication of drug-trafficking methods and the importance of thorough forensic inspections. Police described the seizure as one of the largest in the province’s history and said they would continue targeting narcotics networks.
