Phuket checkpoint police arrest two suspects with guns and ammunition

Police arrested two people at Phuket’s checkpoint after finding a .380 revolver, five rounds of ammunition, an air gun and 411 metal pellets.

Police arrested two suspects at Phuket checkpoint on 20 August after finding firearms and ammunition during a vehicle and passenger search, Thai Post reported.

The search was carried out at 3.50 p.m. by officers from Tha Chatchai Police Station, who were conducting checks to prevent and suppress illegal activity.

One suspect was found with a Smith & Wesson .380 revolver, five rounds of .380 ammunition and a black leather holster, according to the report.

The second suspect was found with an air gun and a bag containing 411 metal pellets.

Police informed both suspects of the allegations and their rights before taking them, along with the seized items, to investigators at Tha Chatchai Police Station for further legal proceedings.
