Authorities in Phuket’s Muang district inspected hotels operating without proper licences on Friday, 18 September, as part of a wider provincial enforcement drive.
Muang Phuket District Chief Siwatch Rawangul, acting for the provincial permanent secretary, led the inspection team. The operation followed an Interior Ministry directive requiring local agencies to take systematic and documented legal action against unlicensed hotels.
Officials are applying provisions of the Building Control Act, the Condominium Act and the Hotel Act. One local administrative organisation has already ordered the suspension of building use at one property, while orders for two other premises are being prepared.
Muang District will continue coordinating with relevant local authorities on the remaining unauthorised hotels under legal proceedings, according to the report.
