In Chalong, three men — one Myanmar national and two Thai nationals — were arrested during a checkpoint operation on 20 August. Chalong Police and local administration officials operated the checkpoint outside the Chao Fah Thani housing estate from 8pm to midnight.
Authorities said the men were found with 24 ya bah pills, 1.37g of crystal meth, two knives and an axe. They were taken to Chalong Police Station for legal proceedings.
A separate checkpoint operated by Wichit Police and local officials outside Sri Phuwanat Park from 8pm to 10pm on 19 August resulted in the arrest of another man. Police seized 30 ya bah pills and 0.36g of crystal meth.
Police said the preliminary charges included possession and consumption of Category 1 narcotics without permission, and driving under the influence of drugs. The case remained at the preliminary investigation stage, with the suspect retaining his rights under the justice system until it is finalised.
