Phuket provincial officials and members of the public gathered at Phuket Provincial Hall to pay tribute to Princess Bajrakitiyabha in a formal ceremony held at the Mahisornphakdi Auditorium.

The ceremony included the ritual pouring of water before a royal portrait of the Princess, followed by the signing of a book of condolences. Participants also paid their respects before the royal portrait and statue before taking part in the ceremonial rites.

Governor Nirat attended the event with Vice Governor Adul Chuthong, Phuket Provincial Red Cross Vice President Dr Khemmawan Chuthong, representatives of the courts and prosecutors, heads of government departments, local administrative organisations, civil servants and members of the public.

Provincial officials said the ceremony was held to express sorrow and to honour the Princess’s lifelong dedication to public service and national development. During the event, attendees reflected on her contributions through royal duties, humanitarian work and efforts to improve the welfare of Thai people.

Officials said Princess Bajrakitiyabha was widely respected for her compassion and support for people affected by hardship and disasters, as well as for her work in the field of law. Participants also highlighted her role in helping make legal knowledge more accessible to the public.

The ceremony was conducted in an orderly and dignified atmosphere, with attendees expressing loyalty, gratitude and sadness. Provincial officials and members of the public also pledged to follow the Princess’s example of public service and commitment to helping others in their own lives and work.
