Phuket hosts friendly football match with U.S. Navy personnel

Phuket Governor Chotnarin Kerdsom presided over the event, which was attended by government officials, private-sector representatives, residents, tourists and athletes. He described the match as an opportunity to build friendship through sport.
In remarks at the event, Chotnarin highlighted Phuket’s beaches, cultural diversity, historical heritage and economic potential as an international tourism destination. He also outlined efforts to promote sustainable tourism, protect the environment and improve residents’ quality of life.
Provincial authorities said the match provided an informal setting for local representatives and visiting naval personnel to interact beyond their official duties. They expressed hope that it would support continued positive relations and future cooperation between Phuket and the U.S. Navy.
