Phuket hosts Young BPW Asia-Pacific symposium from 27-30 August
Phuket is hosting a regional symposium for business and professional women, with delegates attending from across the Asia-Pacific.
Phuket is hosting the Young BPW Asia Pacific Symposium from 27-30 August 2026 under the theme “Deep Ocean, Deep Connection”.
Phuket Vice Governor Romdon Hayiawae co-chaired the opening ceremony and welcomed delegates at a dinner at Pamookkoo Resort in Kata. Attendees included Natthakanya Saengpho, president of the Thai Business and Professional Women Association – Phuket, and Khunying Natthika Watthanavekin Angubolkul, president of the Federation of Thai Business and Professional Women Associations, along with representatives of business and professional women’s associations from across the Asia-Pacific region.
Romdon said Phuket was pleased to welcome women and professional leaders from across the region. “The sea of Phuket does not serve as a barrier between us, but rather as a connection to the global level,” he said.
He said participants had crossed linguistic and cultural differences to develop new networks and opportunities for cooperation. He also described young women as leaders and innovators who would help shape the future, and expressed confidence that relationships developed during the event would continue after the symposium.
The Young BPW Thailand website identifies the event as the 5th Young BPW Asia Pacific Symposium and gives it the additional theme “Inspire, Innovate, Empower, Transform: Together We Shape a Sustainable Future”. A Phuket provincial government release described it as the 9th Young BPW Asia Pacific Symposium.
The programme includes an opening ceremony and cultural night dinner on 27 August, a symposium and ocean candle-lighting dinner on 28 August, and a hackathon and closing ceremony on 29 August. Optional activities on 30 August include a sunset dinner cruise and a cultural experience and heritage walk.
