Phuket hotel job fair offers 2,500 positions ahead of high season
A Phuket job fair brought 100 companies and 1,017 applicants together to recruit workers for hotel, tourism and hospitality roles before the peak tourist period.
A job fair in Phuket offered 2,500 positions ahead of the island’s high season, bringing employers and job seekers together at The Pago Design Hotel.
The event involved 100 companies. Of these, 80 conducted recruitment and interviews at the venue, while 20 participated online through Jobbkk.com. A total of 1,017 applicants registered, including recent graduates seeking to submit applications and attend on-the-spot interviews.
The vacancies covered a range of roles, particularly in the hotel, tourism and hospitality sectors, where demand for workers rises during Phuket’s peak tourist period.
The fair was organised by the Phuket Provincial Employment Office, under the Department of Employment and the Ministry of Labour, in cooperation with Jobbkk.com Co Ltd.
Phuket Governor Chotinrin Kerdsum presided over the opening ceremony with Phuket Provincial Employment Office chief Pichit Singthongkam and Pongsit Danprasertkul, Jobbkk.com’s regional marketing communications and cooperative education manager.
Chotinrin said government and private-sector cooperation was needed to create employment and income opportunities while ensuring businesses had enough staff, particularly in Phuket, where tourism is a major driver of the local economy.
Pongsit said the partnership aimed to promote regional employment during the high season. Jobbkk.com also highlighted upskilling, reskilling and the use of artificial intelligence technology to prepare workers for the modern workplace.
The event included a Modern Thai Fusion Table Art competition organised by Jobbkk.com, with more than B12,000 in total prize money and trophies.
Organisers said the fair was intended to make recruitment more convenient by allowing companies to meet potential employees directly and applicants to find jobs matching their skills and experience. The Phuket Provincial Employment Office continues to post vacancies in Phuket and nearby areas on its Facebook page.
