Phuket hotel workers put culinary skills to the test at two-day exhibition
Hotel workers from across Phuket took part in competitions, training sessions and product demonstrations at a two-day industry exhibition.
Hotel workers from across Phuket took part in culinary competitions, training sessions and product demonstrations at the Phuket Hotelier Craft & Skill Exhibition 2026, held on Sept 26-27 at Phuket Rajabhat University.
The event featured a Phuket sea bass fusion cooking contest, fruit and vegetable carving, and a three-course “mystery box” challenge. Participants were assessed through their cooking, presentation and technical skills.
The programme also included GLASS & WINE TRAINING 2026 for food and beverage workers and a lobster cooking demonstration organised by the Department of Internal Trade. Suppliers displayed products and equipment used in hotel operations.
Vice Governor Romdon Hayiawae opened the exhibition on Sept 26. He said it was intended to strengthen the skills of hotel and tourism workers, raise service standards towards international levels and encourage the use of quality food, beverage and other hospitality products.
The exhibition was organised by the Thailand Chefs Association (Phuket Chapter), Southern Region Chief Engineers and Technical Skills Development Association, Southern Volunteer Chefs Association (Phuket) and Andaman Food and Beverage Association.
