Phuket jasmine prices reach B1,500 per kilogram ahead of National Mother’s Day

Jasmine prices in Phuket have risen to B1,400-B1,500 per kilogram ahead of Thailand’s National Mother’s Day, up from an average of about B1,000 during normal periods.

A survey of flower and garland sales at the Agricultural Market in Mueang Phuket found increased activity before the 11-12 August 2026 holiday. Jasmine, a symbol of Mother’s Day, remained in demand despite the higher prices.

Flower vendors told Prachachat that prices typically rise during the festival as demand increases, while the quantity supplied to the market is insufficient. One vendor said jasmine had become scarce this year, with limited deliveries leaving some shops without enough flowers to make garlands, particularly popular wrist garlands given to mothers.

Vendors expect purchases of jasmine garlands and other flowers to increase during the Mother’s Day period as people buy them to pay respects to their mothers and take part in related activities.
