Phuket launched its 2026 Family Vaccine project at Wichit Municipality on May 17, with senior social development officials saying the programme is aimed at strengthening family institutions and building wider cooperation to improve quality of life across Phuket. The event was organised by the Phuket Provincial Social Development and Human Security Office with Wichit Municipality.
Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security Kitti Intrakul presided over the ceremony. He was joined by Phuket Provincial Social Development and Human Security Chief Sukanya Pho-kaew and Wichit Deputy Mayor Wiset Sabaijit.
Workshops and recognition focus on women, families and support networks
Representatives from government agencies, the private sector, local administrative organisations, women’s and family networks, and volunteers took part in the programme. During the ceremony, officials presented plaques, certificates and bouquets to families, individuals and organisations recognised for work in family development and social welfare.
The event also included discussions on the current situation facing women and families in Phuket. Five group workshops examined family relationships, domestic violence prevention, ways to strengthen support networks, and the promotion of women’s rights and equality.
Kitti said strong family institutions remain the foundation of a stable society. Officials said the project forms part of a wider drive to make Phuket a province with stronger families and a more inclusive society that leaves no one behind.
