Phuket officials attend seminar on civil service discipline

Phuket provincial officials took part in a six-hour seminar on Thursday, July 2, aimed at strengthening civil service discipline and preventing disciplinary offences.

The seminar, held at the Royal Phuket City Hotel, was officially titled “Strengthening Discipline and Preventing Disciplinary Offenses Among Civil Servants in Phuket Province”.

According to the Phuket Provincial Office, the training was organised to improve officials’ understanding of civil service discipline, relevant laws and investigation procedures. The stated goal was to reduce disciplinary violations and promote transparent public administration.

Governor Chotinrin Kerdsom assigned Vice Governor Suwit Phansengiam to open the event. Department heads and officials from provincial, central and district agencies attended.

Mr Suwit told participants that discipline was the foundation of being a government official and helped ensure government work was carried out correctly, transparently and in line with the principles of good governance.

Lecturers from the Ministry of Interior’s Office of the Permanent Secretary provided instruction on government regulations, disciplinary guidelines, prevention of disciplinary offences, and investigation and fact-finding procedures.

The Provincial Office said the programme was intended to equip officials with the knowledge needed to perform their duties correctly, reduce the risk of disciplinary violations and strengthen public confidence in government services.
