Phuket rider accuses hotel staff of eating foreign guest’s food delivery
A Phuket delivery rider has filed a police complaint alleging that hotel reception staff took and ate fried chicken ordered by a foreign guest.
A Phuket food-delivery rider has filed a police complaint alleging that hotel reception staff took and ate fried chicken he had delivered to a foreign guest.
The unidentified rider shared his account with the Phuket Times Facebook page on 7 October but did not name the hotel. He said riders were normally instructed to leave deliveries at reception rather than take them to guests’ rooms.
According to the rider, he left the order at the reception counter before departing to collect another delivery. The customer later reported through the delivery application that the food had not arrived.
The rider said the complaint affected his platform rating and resulted in the order being recorded as missing. He later claimed to have discovered that reception staff had taken and eaten the food.
He said he reported the matter to police because complaints can affect delivery workers’ records and, if repeated, may reduce the work available to them. The rider added that he had worked in delivery for several years and had not previously experienced a similar incident.
There has been no public update on the police investigation, and the hotel has not publicly responded or provided its account of the allegation.
