Student identified as Jojo Sawel of Kathu Wittaya School
Further inquiries identified the rescuer as Jojo Sawel, a mixed-heritage student at Kathu Wittaya School. He is known for selling mala grilled pork after classes to earn money for his education.
The Phuket Times post said Jojo stepped in without hesitation after seeing the man faint and hit his head. Comments quoted in the report praised his composure and kindness, including “Very good, I admire him,” “Amazing,” and “A good child of society.”
People in the area said the injured man might not have survived without immediate help.
