The incident happened in front of Kor Cha Yen Kathu in Kathu district, where the man fell in the middle of the road and struck his head on the ground.
Jojo Sawel identified as Kathu Wittaya student
The teenager was identified as Jojo Sawel, a student at Kathu Wittaya School. Initial reports said he was standing at his stall when he saw the tourist faint and immediately ran over to help.
Jojo performed CPR until emergency responders arrived to take the tourist for treatment. Witnesses at the scene said the tourist was bleeding from the head before he began to come around.
Residents said Jojo regularly sells grilled pork and mala after classes to earn money for his education. People in the area said his quick action may have saved the tourist’s life.
