Phuket takes 23 tourism operators to Dubai travel market
Phuket tourism officials and 23 local businesses promoted the island’s tourism products at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai from 14 to 17 September.
Phuket tourism officials and 23 local tourism businesses promoted the island’s products to Middle Eastern and international travel buyers at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai from 14 to 17 September 2026.
The delegation from the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (PPAO) was led by Deputy Permanent Secretary Sunthon Taebthap. Participating businesses held meetings with travel agencies, airlines and tourism partners at the Dubai World Trade Centre in the United Arab Emirates.
The operators presented hotels and resorts, marine tourism, health and wellness, sports, culture and local food. They also sought to strengthen existing commercial relationships and develop new opportunities in the Middle East market.
Visitors to Phuket’s stand were offered Tao So, a traditional Hokkien-Chinese pastry, and Thai tea. The delegation also displayed keychains made from used plastic bottle caps to highlight recycling and creative reuse.
Tourism representatives said expanding the Middle East market could help attract visitors during Phuket’s Green Season and reduce fluctuations between the high and low seasons. They said stronger year-round demand could create additional opportunities for hotels, restaurants, travel agencies and other tourism businesses across the island.
Organisers reported that the 2026 Arabian Travel Market had more than 2,800 exhibitors and 47,000 travel professionals and buyers, despite ongoing tensions in the region.
