Phuket to host first nighttime procession bringing together 40 shrines

Phuket is scheduled to hold its first nighttime procession of deities on Sunday, 11 October 2026, with 40 shrines from across the island taking part, according to The Phuket Express.

Organised by the Phuket Shrine Association, the event is known locally as “แหมสี อิ้วเก้ง” and is pronounced “Am Ming Si Iu Keng”, meaning “procession at night”. It will begin at Saphan Hin at 8pm before circling Phuket Town’s municipal district.

The procession is expected to feature sacred palanquins, lanterns, firecrackers and worshippers dressed in white. The event is being presented as an extension of Phuket’s Vegetarian Festival and as a gathering intended to unite the island’s shrines, families and generations.

Participants and visitors have been encouraged to wear white clothing and may bring cameras to record the procession.
