Phuket Town raid seizes methamphetamine, ketamine and ecstasy

Officials seized more than 220 methamphetamine pills, 117 grammes of crystal methamphetamine and 122 ecstasy tablets during a raid in Phuket Town, according to a report published on October 15, 2026.

The Phuket Provincial Administration’s Maneekhram Special Task Force carried out the operation at about 8pm after receiving complaints about suspected drug sales. The task force was reportedly led by Phuket Provincial Defence Office Chief Attara Suwattikul, with members of the Volunteer Defense Corps and assistant provincial defence officers taking part.

Officials also seized 3.15 grammes of ketamine, 12 e-cigarette pods containing ketamine and 13 e-cigarettes.

The unnamed suspect was reported to face initial charges of possessing methamphetamine, crystal methamphetamine and ecstasy with intent to distribute without authorisation for commercial purposes. Additional charges relate to possessing ketamine and ketamine-laced e-cigarette pods with intent to distribute, as well as ketamine consumption.

The suspect was also charged under Section 246 of the Customs Act 2017 in connection with acquiring or handling goods known to be associated with an offence under Section 242. Another charge concerns selling or offering e-cigarettes for sale in violation of Committee on Product and Service Safety Order No. 24/2024.

Officials prepared an arrest report and handed the suspect and the seized items to investigators at Phuket City Police Station for further legal proceedings, according to the report.
