Phuket trains 150 officials on anti-corruption ethics

About 150 representatives from public-sector organisations attended an anti-corruption and ethics training programme at The Pagos Design Hotel Phuket on Thursday, 27 August 2026, according to an official report.

Jarunee Thongsai, director of the Human Resource Management Group at the Phuket Provincial Office, opened the event. Participants represented government agencies, regional government offices, state enterprises under the Ministry of Interior, district offices, higher education institutions and local administrative organisations.

The programme was organised to improve knowledge and awareness of corruption prevention while promoting ethical conduct, morality and good governance in public-sector work, the report said.

Sessions covered the Ethical Standards Act of 2019, good-governance principles, the code of conduct for government officials, protection against Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation (SLAPP) lawsuits and guidelines for assessing corruption risks.

Thammanoon Kongrat, director of the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Division at the Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission Region 8 branch, delivered a lecture on preventing corruption and misconduct in the public sector. It covered conflicts of interest, SLAPP legislation, good governance, ethical conduct for civil servants, relevant laws and regulations, and corruption-risk assessment.

The project also included a practical group session on developing plans and measures to prevent corruption risks. Participants applied the training to their own organisations and were encouraged to share the knowledge with other personnel.

Organisers said the project was intended to support transparent and ethical public administration based on good-governance principles and help strengthen public trust.
