A Phuket villa owner has filed a complaint with Chalong Police after alleging that a British tenant caused extensive damage to a luxury property.
Ms Natthakan Hankeo, acting on behalf of the owner, said the villa belongs to Ms Talaticha Loney, who rented it to Mr Farah Hashi, a British national, in March.
According to the complaint, the owner inspected the villa on 4 June and found it in good condition. A later inspection on 6 June found that many items inside the house had been severely damaged.
CCTV footage from about 8pm on 4 June allegedly showed the tenant damaging property inside the villa, with destruction found throughout the house.
Officials inspecting the scene also found devices for inhaling nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, inside the villa. Authorities said they will investigate whether those items were connected to the incident.
The complainant has asked police to prosecute the alleged perpetrator and submitted a list of damaged property for the case file as officers gather additional evidence.
