The incident, known locally as the Phuketdump blaze, drew emergency crews to the site as smoke and flames threatened to spread across the area.
30-Hour Firefighting Effort
Crews worked through the night to contain the fire, using water tankers and heavy equipment to prevent the flames from reaching nearby properties.
Officials monitored air quality throughout the operation but did not report any injuries among responders or residents. The landfill site remained closed to the public during the firefighting effort.
