Police probe suspected backhoe arson
Phuket Provincial Police are investigating a suspected arson after a Caterpillar backhoe loader was found burned at a Kanda Company construction site in Moo 1, Thepkrasattri, Phuket, between April 18 and 19. The vehicle, licence plate TC 591 Phuket, had been parked at the site around 5pm Saturday and was discovered damaged by fire at 8am the next day.
Forensic Examination and Ongoing Investigation
Officers conducted a joint inspection of the burned machinery as part of their initial response.
Evidence from the scene has been sent to the Provincial Forensic Science Division for analysis and will also be reviewed by Forensic Science Division 8.
The vehicle’s owner, 38-year-old Pichet Thinthalang of Srisoonthorn, Thalang, filed a formal complaint with investigators after the incident was reported to police at 12pm. No injuries occurred, and no suspects have been identified, police said.
