Officials raided a shop in Rassada, Phuket, on May 7 after multiple complaints alleged illegal sales of e-cigarettes and untaxed tobacco products near a local school. The operation followed a week of surveillance triggered by tips from local news pages and community reports.

Investigators found the originally suspected shop closed before tracing the alleged sales to a nearby grocery store, M Shop Kuku, in Moo 3, Kuku Village. District Chief Siwatch Ruwangkul led a special task force to the site at about 6:30 p.m.
Seized goods included 42 vape units and 100 cigarette packs
Authorities said officers seized 42 Salt Hub e-cigarettes, each advertised at 9,000 puffs. They also confiscated 100 packs of John BLACK cigarettes that did not carry tax stamps.
Officers took one QR code payment sign as evidence linked to transactions at the store. Officials also alleged the shop was selling kratom-based drinks.
The suspect was taken into custody and the seized items were handed to investigators for prosecution. Officials said the enforcement action forms part of a broader campaign against illegal substances and public-order violations in Phuket.
