Russian woman dies after fall from Kathu condominium
A Russian woman, 32, died after falling from a condominium building in Kathu, and police have opened an investigation into the incident.
A 32-year-old Russian woman died after falling from a condominium building in Kathu on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Kathu Police said they were notified of the incident at about 1:35pm after receiving a report that a foreign woman had fallen from a building at D Condo Creek in Kathu. Police and emergency responders went to Building C of the complex, where the woman was found dead.
Police identified the woman as Anastasiia Avdeeva, 32, a Russian national.
According to Kathu Police, the woman’s husband told investigators that the couple had argued inside their room on the eighth floor before she left the apartment. He later learned that she had fallen from the building.
A forensic doctor from Vachira Phuket Hospital attended the scene with the investigating officer to carry out a preliminary examination before confirming the woman had died.
Police said an inspection of the condominium room found no signs of a struggle, and the woman’s personal belongings remained inside. Her body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital for further examination and legal procedures.
The investigation is being led by Pol Lt Kiattisak Saengmanee, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) at Kathu Police Station.
