Seven dead, 15 injured in shooting at Nonthaburi school

Seven people, including a 14-year-old student identified as the gunman, were reported dead after a shooting at Depsirin Nonthaburi School on 7 August 2026, according to Nonthaburi’s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department. Fifteen others were injured, including two who were in critical condition.

The department said six people were initially killed at the school: three teachers, a secretary, a deputy school director and the student gunman. A 12-year-old female student who suffered serious injuries later died, bringing the reported school-incident death toll to seven.

Police who went to the student’s home found his grandmother and grandfather with gunshot wounds, according to the report. It said the student had shot them before going to school. Emergency responders took victims to nearby hospitals, while police secured the school grounds. The motive had not been disclosed, and the investigation was continuing.
