Suspect sought after Wichit burglary and pickup theft
Police are seeking a 35-year-old Songkhla man accused of stealing B6,000 and a pickup from a Wichit home. The vehicle was later found abandoned in Trang.
Police are seeking a 35-year-old man from Songkhla after he allegedly stole B6,000 in cash and a pickup truck from a house in Wichit on 22 October 2026.
Wichit Police identified the suspect as Ekrawut, also known as “Tom Khao Rup Chang”, and said an arrest warrant had been issued. He remained at large, according to police statements.
The homeowner, Suchart Sinuan, 45, reported the theft to Wichit Police Station at 5.34am. Police said CCTV showed the suspect entering the house in Moo 1, Wichit, at about 1.44am. He allegedly took the cash and the keys to a silver Toyota Hilux Revo pickup, registration BB 8411 Phuket, before driving away.
Police said the pickup was found unoccupied later that day near the entrance to Soi Sala Ta Hun in Huai Yot district, Trang, after an alert from the Trang Provincial Police real-time crime centre and police radio centre. Huai Yot officers seized the vehicle and handed it to investigators.
Wichit Police said the pickup was recovered within 12 hours and arrangements were made to return it to Phuket for the owner to inspect.
Phuket Provincial Police Commander Pol Maj Gen Surachai Suksai ordered Wichit Police to accelerate the investigation, while Wichit Police Chief Pol Col Somsak Thongkliang directed officers to review CCTV, identify the suspect and trace his route. Police said evidence had been collected for submission to the Phuket Provincial Court.
