Swedish woman wanted under Interpol notice arrested in Phuket
Thai immigration officers arrested a Swedish woman in Wichit after authorities said she was wanted over alleged telephone scams that caused more than B60 million in losses.
Thai immigration officers arrested a Swedish woman identified only as “Mrs Felicia” in Wichit, Phuket, on 4 August after tracking her to the area, officials said.
The woman was wanted under an international arrest warrant and Interpol Red Notice No. A-9962/6-2026, issued on 24 June 2026, over alleged public fraud, according to Immigration Bureau officials. The arrest involved the Investigation Division of Immigration Bureau 6, Phuket Immigration, the Royal Thai Police’s Nordic Police Affairs Division and its Foreign Affairs Division.
Investigators allege that in early 2022 she was part of a group of more than 14 people who impersonated finance-company and bank officials in telephone scams. The group allegedly persuaded victims to transfer money in 163 transactions, causing losses of more than B60 million.
Officers confirmed her identity using the Immigration Bureau’s biometric database. Records showed she entered Thailand through Ranong on 31 January on a tourist visa valid until 31 March, and later received an extension from Phuket Immigration to remain in the country until 31 August.
Immigration Bureau 6 revoked her permission to stay after the arrest. She was taken to Phuket Immigration for deportation proceedings and is expected to be returned to Sweden under immigration procedures.
