Teen shot while riding motorbike up Patong Hill

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the left side of his abdomen after two men allegedly fired at the motorcycle he was riding on Phra Barami Road, on the Kathu side of Patong Hill, at about 11:30pm on 30 September 2026, according to Kathu Police.

The teenager was travelling from Ket Ho in Kathu with two friends when the men, who were riding a black Honda Lead, allegedly approached them and fired three shots. The first two missed, while the third struck the teenager, according to the police report.

Despite his injury, he continued riding to a nearby PTT petrol station, where he received assistance before being taken to Patong Hospital by Kusoldharm Foundation rescue workers. The two assailants fled, and police have not identified any suspects or established a motive.

Pol Capt Kiattisak Saengmanee, deputy inspector for investigations at Kathu Police Station, is investigating the case.
