Thailand says Phuket ready to host Global Wellness Summit 2026

Public Health Minister Phatthana Phromphat said Thailand is ready to host the Global Wellness Summit 2026 in Phuket, with the event scheduled for Nov. 10-13, 2026. He said the selection gives Thailand a chance to showcase itself on a global stage as the wellness economy expands.

Data from the Global Wellness Institute for 2025 valued the global wellness economy at US$6.3 trillion, or about B230 trillion. Phatthana said the summit will bring more than 600 CEOs, investors and researchers whose roles include direct cross-border investment decisions.

Angsana Laguna event targets high-value wellness business

Phatthana said summit tickets are priced at US$6,000 per seat, or more than B200,000, indicating the event’s ultra-premium business focus. He said Thailand aims to use the summit to reposition itself as a high-value wellness hub.

The strategy centers on internationally recognized strengths in Thai wisdom and massage, alongside longevity science aimed at higher-spending travelers. Officials also project at least B324 million in direct spending revenue from the event.

Phatthana said the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine is shifting from a regulatory role to a support role in two areas. Those are raising standards for Thai businesses and personnel to international levels, and linking wellness SMEs and startups with funding sources, international partners and investor networks.

The summit will be held at Angsana Laguna Phuket through cooperation between the Public Health Ministry, TCEB, the Tourism Authority of Thailand and private-sector partners.
