Police arrested three suspects and seized a Remington 870 shotgun after a reported confrontation between rival groups in Rassada.
Phuket police arrested three suspects after a reported gunfire incident in Rassada, with officers seizing a Remington 870 shotgun, ammunition and related equipment.
Police said the incident occurred in the early hours of 12 August 2026 near Soi Tha Ruea. Investigators identified the suspects and arrested them by 6pm the same day.
The suspects face charges including attempted murder, illegal possession of firearms, carrying weapons in public without authorisation, and discharging a firearm in a public area without cause. Police have also obtained arrest warrants for five other people believed to be involved.
Investigators said the confrontation followed an earlier dispute between two groups. The alleged assailants lay in wait near the entrance to the soi, fired shots to intimidate their rivals and then fled. No injuries were reported.
The arrests were announced on 13 August during a briefing led by Phuket Governor Chotnarin Kerdsom, Provincial Police Commander Pol. Maj. Gen. Sinlert Sukhum and senior district officials.
