Police in Sungai Petani, Malaysia, have arrested two men and a woman after a 28-year-old was violently assaulted during a live social media broadcast. The attack occurred in Bandar Laguna Merbok when an MPV intercepted the victim’s vehicle and multiple suspects confronted her, police said. The incident unfolded in real time as the woman was allegedly struck on the head and face and her mobile phones were seized and smashed.
Investigation and Related Allegations
Kuala Muda district police chief Assistant Commissioner Hanyan Ramlan confirmed the three arrests and said the victim herself was also detained over a separate house trespassing report linked to the dispute.
Investigators have opened several files for causing hurt and mischief. Authorities are working to establish the motive for the assault and the connection between the parties involved.
