Three arrested as Phuket authorities seize more than B600,000 in illegal cigarettes
Authorities raided three shops in Mueang Phuket and Thalang, arresting three people and seizing foreign cigarettes valued at more than B600,000.
Phuket authorities arrested three people and seized foreign cigarettes with an estimated street value of more than B600,000 during a raid on three shops suspected of selling untaxed tobacco products.
The operation took place at 7pm under court-approved search warrants, with officers from Phuket City Police Station targeting two shops in Mueang Phuket and one in Thalang district.
Authorities also filed complaints seeking an additional arrest warrant for another person believed to be involved, according to the report. The suspects and seized cigarettes were handed to investigators at Phuket City Police Station and Tha Chatchai Police Station for prosecution.
