Three cannabis shop licences revoked in Rawai
An inspection of 13 cannabis establishments in Rawai resulted in three licence revocations and eight 90-day suspensions, according to an official report.
Three cannabis shop licences in Rawai have been revoked after an inspection of 13 establishments on 27 August, according to an official report of the operation.
The inspection was led by Phuket Vice Governor Khetarat Chansilp and followed public complaints about alleged breaches of regulations governing cannabis businesses. The checks focused on compliance with rules governing cannabis use inside licensed establishments, including restrictions on smoking cannabis on the premises.
Eight establishments had their licences suspended for 90 days, while two were found to have committed no violations, the report said. Two of the three revoked licences were cancelled over marijuana use. The third was revoked after the establishment was found to have committed a second advertising offence.
The report listed officials from the Thalang District Office, the Phuket Provincial Public Health Office and the Thalang District Public Health Office as participating in the operation, although Rawai is in Mueang Phuket District. None of the establishments was named.
