Three foreign nationals were arrested at Phuket International Airport after customs officers found 38 untaxed mobile phones in their luggage in the arrivals terminal on May 28.
Customs officers at Phuket International Airport arrested three foreign nationals after finding 38 untaxed mobile phones in their luggage, authorities said.
The arrests were made on May 28 at about 10am in the international arrivals terminal, when the three men passed through the "Nothing to Declare" green channel on the first floor of the terminal.
The suspects were identified as Mr Okhunjou Faizullayev, Mr Nodir Atabekov and Mr Bekhruz Mukhtorov. Officials said the men admitted ownership of three bags containing the imported devices.
They face charges related to smuggling goods into Thailand without proper customs clearance.
The suspects and the confiscated phones were transferred to Sakhu Police Station under the direction of Pol Col Salan Santisasanakul for further legal proceedings.
