Two arrested in Thalang drug raids as police seize meth and ya bah

Thalang police arrested two men in separate narcotics raids in Moo 8, Thepkrasattri, seizing crystal meth, ya bah pills, mobile phones and a motorcycle, according to police.

The arrests were made by the Thalang Police investigation unit during a narcotics suppression operation.

In the first case, police said 41-year-old Amarin Phanthip was arrested at a house in Moo 8 after officers allegedly found 104.45 grammes of ya ice in his possession. Officers also seized a black Oppo mobile phone valued at about B6,000.

Police said further investigation led to the seizure of a motorcycle valued at about B30,000 under the Narcotics Control Act.

Amarin was charged with possessing a Category 1 narcotic for sale without permission in a manner constituting a commercial act and causing its distribution among the public.

In a separate case, police arrested 23-year-old Phattaraphol Kongyuang at another house in Moo 8, Thepkrasattri. Police said they seized 1,335 ya bah pills and 66.35g of crystal meth from the property, along with a black iPhone valued at about B10,000.

Phattaraphol was charged with possessing Category 1 narcotics, including ya bah and crystal meth, for sale without permission in a manner constituting a commercial act and causing their distribution among the public.

Both suspects were handed over to investigators for further legal action, police said.
