Two Arrested in Wichit Raid Over Drugs and Online Gambling

A police raid on a rental property in Wichit, Phuket, led to two arrests and the seizure of methamphetamine, crystal meth and evidence tied to online gambling.

Police in Phuket arrested two suspects during a raid on a rental property in Wichit and seized methamphetamine pills, crystal methamphetamine and evidence linked to online gambling.

The operation was led by Chief Administrative Officer Akara Suwattikul, together with district officials and members of the Volunteer Defense Corps, as authorities stepped up action against narcotics and other illegal activities.

During the search, officers confiscated 178 methamphetamine tablets, 0.45 grams of crystal methamphetamine and seven other items of evidence.

The two suspects were charged with possession and intent to distribute Category 1 narcotics, as well as illegal drug use. One of the suspects also faces an additional charge of operating unauthorized online slot gambling.

Both suspects and the seized evidence were handed over to investigators at Wichit Police Station for legal proceedings.
