Two injured in Wichit house fire

Two people were injured in a house fire in Wichit late at night, with emergency crews bringing the blaze under control after about 40 minutes.

The Wichit Municipality Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Unit received a report of the fire at 11:16pm. Wichit Mayor Kreettha Chotwichpipat coordinated the emergency response.

Firefighters from the municipality’s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Unit were joined by rescue workers and Wichit Police. Emergency crews responded with fire engines, water tankers, patrol vehicles and rescue units.

Firefighters quickly began spraying water to contain the blaze and brought the fire under control after about 40 minutes.

Initial reports confirmed that two people were injured in the incident. Both were transported by Wichit Municipality rescue personnel to Vachira Phuket Hospital for treatment.

Authorities have not disclosed the extent of the injuries or the damage to the property. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
