Phuket holds ‘Family Vaccine’ event to strengthen family support networks
Officials in Phuket held a ‘Family Vaccine’ project event at Wichit Municipality to promote stronger family institutions and cooperation on family support and social welfare.
Phuket officials and community representatives gathered at Wichit Municipality for a ‘Family Vaccine’ project event aimed at strengthening family institutions and expanding cooperation on social welfare and family support.
The event was organised by the Phuket Provincial Social Development and Human Security Office in cooperation with Wichit Municipality under the ‘Family Vaccine’ project for the 2026 fiscal year.
Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security Kitti Intrakul presided over the event. He was joined by Phuket Provincial Social Development and Human Security Chief Sukanya Pho-kaew and Wichit Deputy Mayor Wiset Sabaijit.
Participants included representatives from government agencies, the private sector, local administrative organisations, women’s and family networks, and volunteers.
Officials said the event was intended to promote stronger family institutions and encourage cooperation among agencies and community groups to improve quality of life across Phuket.
During the ceremony, plaques, certificates and bouquets were presented to families, individuals and organisations recognised for outstanding work in family development and social welfare.
The programme also included discussions on the current situation facing women and families in Phuket, along with five group workshops on family relationships, domestic violence prevention, strengthening support networks, and promoting women’s rights and equality.
Speaking at the event, Mr Kitti said strong family institutions remain the foundation of a stable society. He said warmth, understanding and mutual support within families help communities cope with social change and emerging problems, and thanked those involved in advancing women’s welfare, family support and social development initiatives in Phuket.
Officials said the event forms part of broader efforts to help make Phuket a province with stronger families and a more inclusive society.
