Viral video shows foreigners eating squash on moving tuk-tuk in Patong

A video posted on May 3 by the “Chaeyap Phuket” page went viral after showing two foreign tourists eating squash while riding a moving tuk-tuk on Thaweewong Road in Patong, Phuket. The clip showed the man and woman carrying on as traffic followed behind them, drawing wide attention online.

The footage prompted criticism because the pair were eating on a vehicle in motion, a behavior widely seen as unsafe for both the passengers and other road users. The post also questioned whether the stunt was filmed for social media and tagged both Phuket and Patong.

Social media backlash centers on safety and driver responsibility

Most online comments opposed the behavior shown in the clip. Several users mocked the scene, while others said the driver should not have allowed passengers to act that way on a moving vehicle.

Some responses quoted in reaction to the post included “กินบวบแล้วหล่าวววว,” “คนขับรถคงสบายตา 5555,” and “คนขับไม่ควรปล่อยให้ลูกค้าทำแบบนี้.” A smaller number treated the clip as humorous and joked about the narrator’s voice, including one comment saying, “เสียงน่ารักดี หรอยหนาวเย็น”
