Woman arrested in Phuket after alleged fatal attack on mother-in-law

A 36-year-old woman was arrested in Phuket after allegedly killing her elderly mother-in-law with a garden knife, according to an Instagram post published on 10 August 2026.

The post said passers-by alerted authorities after seeing the victim’s legs outside a doorway. Responding officers allegedly found a blood-soaked scene, along with bleach and a broom, and arrested the suspect while she was hiding in a bathroom.

The post said the woman was charged with murder. It also attributed the alleged attack to stress linked to daily caregiving duties. The investigation was continuing, according to the post.
