Woman dies after bus and motorbike crash in Pa Khlok
A 60-year-old motorbike rider died after colliding with an MKR Transport bus at an intersection on Route 4027 in Pa Khlok, Thalang.
A 60-year-old woman died after her motorbike collided with an MKR Transport bus at the Baan Laem Sai intersection in Pa Khlok, Thalang, police said.
Thalang Police were notified of the crash at about 6pm on Pa Khlok-Muang Mai Road (Route 4027), in Moo 6. The motorbike rider was identified as Saijai Tonklang. Rescue workers took her to Thalang Hospital, which notified police at about 8:30pm that she had died from her injuries.
The other vehicle was an MKR Transport bus with Bangkok licence plates. Police identified its driver as Aphinan Suwannakot, 45, from Buriram province.
According to the initial police investigation, both vehicles had been travelling from Baan Pa Krong Cheep towards Route 4027, with the bus ahead of the motorbike. The bus turned right towards Pa Khlok at the intersection while the motorbike attempted to overtake it on the right, resulting in the collision, police were told.
Officers photographed the scene, prepared an accident map and collected evidence. Aphinan underwent an alcohol test, which recorded zero milligrams per cent, and a preliminary urine test for drugs was negative. Police said further investigation would continue.
