Woman killed after car crashes into Phuket pharmacy

A 58-year-old woman was killed and a 33-year-old man injured when a grey MG sedan crashed into a pharmacy near Phuket International Airport on 23 September.

The crash was reported at about 9am on the road outside Health Express pharmacy in Moo 1, Sakhu, Thalang. The sedan, which was registered in Bangkok, crashed through the pharmacy’s glass storefront and damaged the front and interior of the premises.

Police identified the driver as 41-year-old Samrit Yangkhruea. The injured pedestrian, 33-year-old Kitti Phuet-sen, was taken to Thalang Hospital. The other pedestrian, 58-year-old Thanaphak Thanwan, died at the scene and was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital.

Police documented the scene, collected evidence and impounded the car at Sakhu Police Station for forensic examination. Police said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
