Woman’s claim of ownership leaves tourists bewildered at Kathu Waterfall
A video shows a woman telling tourists to leave Kathu Waterfall, while authorities have yet to confirm whether she has any legal right to control access.
A video posted on the Hod Jung Phuket Facebook page shows a woman confronting tourists at Kathu Waterfall in Phuket and telling them to leave, amid a claim that the waterfall has an owner.
In the video, the tourists ask whether the waterfall is a public area before being told to swim elsewhere. The page caption described the incident as tourists being “chased away” from the waterfall.
The footage prompted comments questioning the woman’s claim. Some commenters suggested she might own land near the waterfall rather than the waterfall itself.
The relevant authorities had not confirmed whether the woman owns any part of the area or has a legal right to manage, control or restrict access to Kathu Waterfall, according to the report published on 13 August 2026.
