Chabad Patong has rejected reports and controversy surrounding an activity held for the Jewish New Year, saying it was a religious ceremony conducted according to Jewish principles.
Daily News reported on 11 September 2026 that a reporter visited the Chabad site on Rat-Uthit 200 Pi Road in Ban Khok Makham, Patong, Kathu district, Phuket, following the reports and allegations surrounding the event.
The organisation disputed descriptions of the activity as a form of “sin cleansing” and said it was simply part of Jewish New Year observance.
